And how was your Thanksgiving? I know what I am thankful for this year, besides not having to fly or drive anywhere this weekend. I am thankful for Penelope. So are a lot of people because we had a full house for dinner. Grandma Carol from Iowa, Grandpa Ed from Thailand, Grandma Leslis (Coya's mom) from Washington DC and our old pal Moe, our (Nina and Coya's) neighbor.
So much good food and none of it was liquid, well, except the gravy and as delicious as it was and given my tendencies to overeat even I wouldn't have drank a bottle of gravy.
Too bad Penny, maybe next year!
Penny relaxes with a pre-dinner Pinot Noir and a tumbler of the finest Russian vodka.
Coya tries to re-shape the mohawk that once was there but is too long to stand up without some help.
Moe teaches Penny some new facial expressions.
P-lo with her parents.
With her re-shapped mohawk, Penny is feeling punk rock again and tells me what I can do with my camera.

Week 17
Have I mentionned what a great baby Penelope is? Smiley and happy. A bit of an insomniac, but overal, such a fun kid to be around. Cute too!
Note to parents out there, if you ask me to change your child's clothes and your child has elements in his/her closet that resembles something I would wear, do not be surprised at the outcome.
Penny is skeptical.
Penny wishes she had more arm control and could do "jazz hands"...so for now, just inner jazz hands.
Penny thinks I'm loca.
Penny is bored.
...one million dollars!...
Flash back to 2 hours earlier, and P-lo is having a very leisurely morning, after an epic 10 hour sleep. She like to look at all the cool things in her little Play Dome. The toys and all the lights.
Leisurely, until someone put her on her stomach and took pictures of her meltdown.
Back on her back and Penny likes the red bird. She'll follow the bird with her eyes if you wave it in front of her. Also, you can tell by the picture that like her mother and aunt, she's going to LOVE fried chicken!
See being on your stomach isn't that bad.
So not only did she slep 10 hours the night before, but she napped during the day for a good combined total of 3-4 hours and that made for a happy baby getting ready for pajamas.
Hey there...why the room [hic!] spinning around [hic!]?

Week 16
I know, I've been slacking off on documenting Penelope's every move. Went over on Saturday, but I forgot my camera, so I had to wait for photos.
But exciting news! Penny had her first food, a cucumber. Well, she didn't eat it, not really. She just gummed it. And drooled on it.
Half an hour before that, she was all bundled up in her carseat on the way to Sweet Tomatoes, the Salad Bar Buffett (which is alot more exciting than it sounds).
Ready to eat.
In the salad bar line.
With her Titi Coya.
With the trademark Xoomsai snarl.
Back at home and P-lo wonders why adults think it's so funny to torture cute little babies.

14 Weeks
I got Penelope all to myself on Saturday while her parents were in the suburbs for Ted and Blair's wedding. We had a lot of fun. We played The Stand Up Game. We played the Grab My Hand Game. And we went on two walks--Penny slept while I played Is She Still Breathing, Did the Baby Bjorn Suffocate Her Game.
This is Penny before the walk.
This is Penny after the walk.
Well, that was a quick nap.
Penny tries on her new hat and just about punched my lights out when I laughed.
When she realized she was on camera, it was all smiles.
How about a montage of cute baby in rubber chair? Let's start with my very favorite photo:
She sat in her chair as I ate my dinner and when I picked her up, her diaper leaked and I thought, wow, her pee is REALLY yellow. It wasn't pee. So a quick sink bath later, someone got a comb-over.
The next morning P got her first shower.
Grandpa Ed wanted to make sure we got a photo of her fancy shoes.

Penelope's First Halloween
She was crying the first time she put it on (maybe because it was 90 degrees out) but this time, P-Dawg loved her hot dog costume, it kept her nice and toasty.
This is not a commercial for Snickers. Or its affliates.
Ethan the Owl wants a bite of P-Dawg.
Papa dressed up as an accountant this year for Halloween.
Sleeping P-Dawg.
